Starting the school year well-equipped is already a step toward success.

Every back-to-school season brings excitement… but also expenses. For many families, school-related costs can be a source of stress: school supplies, learning materials, daycare fees, transportation, uniforms, and more.

That’s why the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul of Montréal provides essential support to families facing financial challenges. Our Back-to-School Financial Aid Program helps ease this burden, allowing children to start the school year with everything they need — with dignity, fairness, and confidence.

Because every child deserves to start the year on equal footing, ready to learn and thrive.

What does the offer include:

The back-to-school assistance provided by the Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul de Montréal (SSVPM) consists of individual financial assistance of $50.00 per child in the form of a voucher. These vouchers are distributed through the SSVPM’s various service locations (conferences). Starting in 2026, physical coupons will only be distributed to students in the Pointe-de-l’île School Service Center and to students attending English-language schools (English-Montréal School Board, Lester B. Pearson School Board, and Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board).

For students in other school service centers (Centre de service scolaire de Montréal, Centre de service scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys, and Centre de services scolaire de Laval), a partnership between the SSVPM and the school service centers now allows the latter to directly allocate individual financial aid to eligible students in schools within their respective territories.

Where to use the coupons:

Opération Bonne Mine coupons can be used by parents of students in the Centre de services scolaire de la Pointe-de-l’île and by students attending English-language schools (English-Montréal School Board, Lester B. -Pearson, and Sir-Wilfrid-Laurier School Board) directly at the schools to pay for various fees (school supplies and textbooks, daycare fees, lunch supervision fees, etc.). Parents must present the coupons as a form of payment at the school by October 31, 2026.
