Because every journey is unique, the OBM Academic Perseverance Scholarships Program created the Academic Perseverance Scholarships to recognize perseverance in all its forms — academic, personal, and social. These scholarships celebrate the effort, resilience, and commitment of students who continue moving forward despite the challenges they face. They are a concrete way to value their journey and help build their confidence.

Application Process

The applicant submitting the nomination must be a recognized staff member of the student’s educational institution (teacher, school administrator, support worker, guidance counselor, etc.), or a practitioner working within an organization dedicated to academic perseverance or educational support.
Any application submitted by a student’s parent will be automatically rejected.

1. Complete the nomination form + deadline

Applications for the 2025 edition are now closed.
The next application period will open in February 2026.

2. Involve the student and their family

To ensure the process is meaningful, we strongly encourage completing the application together with the student and their family.
Explain to the student that being nominated in itself is already a meaningful form of recognition.

3. Describe perseverance with concrete examples

Highlight the student’s motivation through specific situations that illustrate their journey, efforts, and growth.
Detailed, personalized, and authentic responses are essential to the selection process.

4. Application review

An impartial selection committee carefully reviews each application.
Decisions are communicated during the month of May each year.

5. Award presentation

Scholarships are sent directly to the educational institution or organization, along with a certificate and a letter of encouragement.
We encourage institutions to highlight this moment during a gala, ceremony, or end-of-year event — an opportunity to celebrate the student’s journey, surrounded by their peers.
