Light on art therapy (video opening Marc-Aurèle-Fortin school)
You are probably wondering about the concrete nature of art therapy: what exactly is it? How are the workshops going? Who oversees it? And above all, what is its real impact on children? In this video (in french), we answer all these questions by inviting you to the vernissage organized in May 2023 at the Marc-Aurèle-Fortin school (Montreal).
Opération Bonne Mine, the perseverance program of the Société de Saint-Vincent de Paul de Montréal, and its team of art therapists, directly intervene in educational institutions. The artistic projects are developed by professional art therapists, targeting the specific needs of the group of students they work with. During the workshops, young individuals are encouraged to express themselves through reflections on their experiences, using various art forms such as visual arts, writing, dance, photography, and more. This approach aims to address concepts such as cohesion, self-confidence, communication, and a sense of belonging.
