Clothes for people experiencing homelessness in Montreal
PUBLISHED ON FEBRUARY 25, 2019 - Alain Bélanger is a CPA with the firm of Messier et associés. “Giving something back” is important to him.
For the last two years, Alain and the team of SSVP’s Store 1930 have been sorting, preparing and collecting clothes in the sorting centre in order to provide them to the Équipe mobile de référence et d’intervention en itinérance (EMRII, the Montreal police department’s mobile team for homeless referral and action).
Boots, T-shirts, coats, pants and socks were collected with the support of Michelle from the 1930 sorting centre, and then delivered by Alain. It’s a team effort that will certainly improve the day-to-day life of several people experiencing homelessness.
